CA is a professional course where ICAI endorse a letter to it’s member which entitles the members to use CA as prefix to their name.
Many universities has given enough weight to CA and allowed them to do Ph.d on the basis of the same, but it can’t be said that they have recognised CA as post graduation degree, even if they did then only for the purpose of doing Ph.d and for that particular university only.
Now coming back to UGC NET - Since neither CA is equivalent to Post graduation nor UGC has came up with any official announcement that CAs can take UGC NET exam without post graduation degree hence you have to do post graduation separately to qualify for taking this exam.
